A mix of colorful hues come to life on the Paua Shells at the Paua Shell Factory in Carterton, Wairarapa on the North Island of New Zealand after being sanded and buffed.

Along the coastline in Carterton, Wairarapa in New Zealand, Paua Shells can be found, but they will not be as colorful as this one on display at the Paua Shell Factory. To create the hues found on these Paua Shells, one must sand the lime off which takes a great deal of hard work and then buff them with a special wheel to make them shine. The end result is amazing and well worth the hours it takes to bring the beauty of these shells out.

The Paua Shell Factory has an assortment of items on display, such as jewellery, unique gifts and ornaments, all made out of these colorful shells. After visiting the factory, many people head to the coastal shores to find one of these unique New Zealand shells for themselves.
