The scenic view of the Catlin's coastline is stunning along the Southern Scenic Route in Otago on the South Island of New Zealand where the farmlands look out over the water. Hundreds of sheep scatter themselves across these farmlands where they graze in the lush green pastures in the fresh, crisp air.
For many hectares, the farmlands span across the tops of the cliff as pastoral farming is the main source of income for the local residents who reside in the Catlin's. The fertile soil provides incredible grazing for the sheep with each farmer owning about 2,500 to 3,000 sheep.
Rain is fairly common along the Catlin's coastline but the temperature never gets too cold to keep the sheep from grazing. While driving along the Southern Scenic Route in Otago, New Zealand, be sure to pay attention to the thousands of sheep and the picturesque views of the Catlin's coastline.
