Bird Pictures

A range of pictures and photos of various bird species found throughout New Zealand.

New Zealand is a paradise for bird watchers! There many species of these feathered creatures from those that are endemic, native or introduced.

The iconic and nocturnal Kiwi can only be seen at night whereas the cheeky kea doesn't hesitate to sit on your car for pickings at its rubber accessories. The rowdy Kaka flies through the forest canopy while the flighless weka is a shy bird which makes its way in the bush.

It doesn't matter where in New Zealand you find yourself, if you sit quietly and for long enough you are bound to see a species of bird wander across your path.
