As night takes over in the City of Wellington, New Zealand, the waterfront becomes illuminated and the Albatross fountain glows as the yellow lights reflect off the sculpture.
Tanya Ashken is best known for her Albatross sculpture which has been displayed at Frank Kitts Park since 1986. A few problems had to be overcome due to the weight of the sculpture when it was brought to Wellington. She has a strong interest in bird and sea life which influences much of her creative work.
